What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
When I took my first full time ministry, I worked with a pastor who frequently belittled me publicly. A sweet elderly lady who was sitting on the back pew could tell it really bothered me. When I made my rounds to shake hands with her, she gave me a great piece of advice that gave us both a great laugh. In her deep South Georgia drawl, she said, “Sometimes it’s just best to leave ignorance alone.” I can honestly say I have used this piece of advice hundreds of times. This little lady is now with Jesus, but she gave me some of the greatest ministry advice I could have ever received.
