Me Start a Sports Team?

If you started a sports team, what would the colors and mascot be?

Many said when my family got large that I was trying to start a football team. Those who know me know I have no interest in football (or sports, for that matter). If I were to start a sports team, the colors would be blue and white and the mascot would be a cross.

Blue and white are my favorite colors, but why a cross for a mascot? Aren’t mascots supposed to be people dressed up like chickens or tigers? Maybe not! For me, the cross is a symbol. It symbolizes the death that brought me life – the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Reason I live!

I couldn’t make a cross look good on a jersey until it was white. It’s not about the aesthetic but about the principle. Plus, this is my blog prompt, and I can write it as I please. These are honest thoughts from a pastor, right?

  1. Hmmmm… follow my thoughts here. A cross, particularly a cross emblazoned on a shield, would inspire people, definitely. You could even make the actual mascot a paladin, a knight sworn to the Lord, a powerful force for Good. I imagine the roar of the crowd as the paladin mascot gallops into the field, mounted on a white steed, blue and white trappings flowing. Very inspiring!

  2. I have zero interest in sport and more interest in this blog

    1. Same! I would much rather be reading or playing the piano than watching or playing any sport.

  3. What would the mascot be?

  4. For the mascot I’m wondering the sentinels, the shepherds or the Guardian s
