26 Years and Counting

May 4th will be a day that forever changed my life next to salvation. It was the day I surrendered to the call to ministry. I was ambitious like all young guys are when they start. Although ministry looks a lot different than what I imagined, I celebrate this day every year.

I never imagined I would be saying I’ve served 13 churches in 26 years. The thing that blows my mind is that I stayed at one of those for 6 years and the other for 3 1/2. Every day, I count it an honor and privilege to be a part of God’s kingdom work.

If you are struggling with the call of God, thinking He can’t use you, allow this Scripture to speak to you like it did to me. First Corinthians 1:26-29 says this,

“For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.”

To God be the glory! I owe it all to Him!

  1. Congratulations on your 26 years! I respect and appreciate all the times and places you’ve served! You obeyed the Great Commission and followed the “call” God had for you! Undoubtedly, HE has used you! Like you, I give any credit to our Heavenly Father! I’m proud of you and want to thank your family too for all those years! God bless you all!
