Tiramisu

What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?

Tiramisu…I remember the first time I heard this word. I thought it might be some oriental pain relief technique or meditation practice. My family didn’t eat out a lot, so I found my girlfriend at the time having to school me on what this is. Not wanting to look like a dud on the date, I decided I would try it. I was not disappointed.

For those who don’t know what it is, Wikipedia describes it as “an Italiandessert made of ladyfinger pastries (savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone and flavoured with cocoa.” Because I was not a coffee connoisseur at the time, I thought it may be repulsive. For years, I ate it at the same Italian restaurant. But I’ll never forget the day when tiramisu went from tasty to life-transforming.

We were on a trip to Pigeon Forge, TN. It was lunch time, so we ventured out and stumbled across Johnny Carino’s, an Italian restaurant that was not represented anywhere near our small South Carolina town. The lunch cuisine was already superior to our norm. Per usual, we ordered tiramisu. I’ll never forget that first bite. It was so good that I didn’t want to swallow it. I could have spent an hour eating that so that I would never lose the moment. Keep reading other people’s blog posts while I drive to Tennessee for some tiramisu😀.

  2. LOL, Matthew! How can I read now? I’m craving Tiramisu. I have a confession—I’ve never tried it! The most delicious dessert I’ve ever had has to be—french silk pie! And the other taste I love the most? Steak! Lol Many blessings, my friend. I’m hungry now!

    1. You must try it! I’ll agree that French Silk pie is really good. We had steak for dinner a few nights ago, so I’m good on steak for a month or two.
